A warm April has melted the ice and opened the lakes for fishing. Because of the social distancing recommendations, we are asking that everyone be even more diligent in wearing your fishing badges so they are visible. That will limit to need for people to approach you to check for your badges.
Here’s a quick review of the highlights of the fishing regulations:
- Members must be present with any guests who are fishing.
- Long term tenants are not permitted to fish without a member present.
- Tenants are not members.
- Fishing badges need to be visible.
- If you need fishing badges, email me at: tratt9@gmail.com
- You are responsible for you and your guests to assure all are following all of the regulations.
- BLE fishing regulations can be found here: https://beaverlakes.org/fishing-regulations/
Fishing in the Lower Lake:
- Catch and release only.
- Barbless flies and lures.
- No more than a single treble hook on a lure.
Fishing the Upper Lake:

- Release all brown trout. They are a good predator against suckers.
- No limit on brook trout.
- Only flies, lures, worms, salmon eggs and power bait are permitted.
- No live bait, minnows or leeches are permitted.
- No more than a single treble hook on a lure.
- A tired fish takes longer to recover or may die. Avoid playing the fish to exhaustion and land it as quickly as possible.
- Release the fish quickly.
- Keep them in the water as much as possible – a net is great for this.
