This year, we have four Board members whose terms expire in July, 2025. Three of those are not planning to run for re-election.
Eric Flora, who has served as our Secretary for 18 years, is retiring from the Board. Thanks to Eric for his long service to our community! Linda Keller, who is planning to run for re-election, has offered to step in as Board Secretary.
Ken Berendt, who has been our Treasurer and served on the Board for 12 years will be moving from BLE. Thanks to Ken for all he has done as Treasurer! There is a great need for a Board member to take over some of the technical aspects, including web management, member lists and emailing, and banking and financial aspects working with our bookkeeper.
Sue Proulx’s term is complete and she has decided not to run for the Board. Thanks goes to Sue for her work on the Cabin Committee and service on the Board.
There are many reasons to volunteer on the BLE Board. Board members have a voice in the decisions that are made which impact BLE operations, member dues, and determine how assets are used in our community. Ideally, the Board will continue to have 7 members.
Being on the Board is a 3 year commitment. We have meetings in January, May, July, September and November. All but the July meeting are online so can be attended from anywhere. The term would begin in July after our board election.

Whoever opens the gate must close or wait until the next person closes. The ELHA member of records is responsible for violations by guests, family members, agents, contractors, vendors, and employees.
All offenses: $250 fine.
There may occasions, during the winter months, when the upper gate may be left open, but only when permission has been received from Jim Moyer. Signs on the upper gate will inform you when it can be open and when it must be closed. The bottom gate must be closed at all times.
